Who We Are
Our Mission:
|
St. Paul Lutheran Church cares deeply about Children and Hunger in our community. This deep care comes out of our response to the Gospel: God's love for us in Jesus Christ. We share the love we have been shown in Jesus!
Many people at St. Paul were not "born Lutheran." They come with their rich experiences from other denominations and now call St. Paul Lutheran home. What We BelieveAt St. Paul we believe that we are called, gathered and sent to spread God’s redeeming word of love and forgiveness in Jesus Christ. We do that by telling the story of God’s Love in Jesus through our worship services, bible study, service and sharing of our time, talents, and money.
We are a part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). However, we are not your typical Evangelicals. By evangelical we mean that we believe that the Word does what it says. That is to say, when Jesus says “Your sins are forgiven,” that it is done, our sins are forgiven. As Lutherans we believe that “we are saved by grace through faith, and that this is not our own doing, but that it is the gift of God—not the result of works.” (Ephesians 2:9-9). We are saved through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, because God loves us. We respond to this love by using our resources to care for our neighbor (anyone in need) and the earth (we call this stewardship). At St. Paul, we preach and teach from the Bible. We use The Small Catechism to teach the basics of faith: The 10 commandments, the Apostle’s Creed, the Lord’s Prayer, The Lord’s Supper, and Holy Baptism. Each Sunday we gather around Word and Sacrament. Learn more. |
